A Recreational Network

Letter to Salt Lake Tribune, published May 5, 2004

Why not pave a dedicated bike/jogging path down the middle of 200 or 300 South from the university to downtown and eventually the Jordan River, and another one down the middle of 600 East from the Avenues all the way south?

This would put the 600 East "traffic calming" green strip to a better use, allow commuters and families a safe place to bike and jog separated from cars and accessible to TRAX and (for the more athletically inclined) link the foothill paths to the Jordan River path.

For a relatively minimal expense, we would dramatically increase the usability of the recreational path network in town.
