Dr. Ralph S. Polimeni is the Vice Provost for Accreditation and Assessment and holds the Chaykin Endowed Chair in Accounting.  Prior to his current position, Dr. Polimeni served as Dean of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business for 11 years.  Dr. Polimeni was also Chair of the Accounting, Taxation and Legal Studies in Business Department at Hofstra University for 21 years. In 1978 Dr. Polimeni received the University's Distinguished Teacher Award.  He has a Ph.D. in business with a major in accounting, holds a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant in New York State and is a Certified Cost Analyst. 


Dr. Polimeni is the co-author of numerous textbooks, many of which have been translated into foreign languages and used internationally. He has also written extensively in both domestic and international accounting journals.  Specializing in financial and managerial accounting, he is presently the Chair of the Nassau County Audit Advisory Committee and has served as a consultant to The Washington Post, the City of New York, the Office of the New York State Special Prosecutor, several law firms, and a "Big Four" accounting firm.
