Dr. K.G. Viswanathan received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, (Durgapur, India), an M.B.A. in Finance from Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, Michigan), and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, Tennessee).

Dr. Viswanathan's research and teaching interests include international finance and banking, corporate finance, international mergers and international stock listings. His research papers have appeared in Applied Financial Economics, the Global Finance Journal, Managerial Finance, Advances in International Banking and Finance, Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics, Corporate Finance Review, The Journal of International Business and Law, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, and The Journal of Financial Research. He has presented his research at the Eastern Finance Association, Allied Social Sciences Association, Midwest Finance Association, Association of International Management Scholars, and Financial Management Association meetings, and at the Global Finance Conference. He has served on the program committees of the Eastern Finance Association, the Midwest Finance Association and the Financial Management Association. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board of AIMS International Journal of Management.

Dr. Viswanathan frequently reviews textbooks and papers in the field of finance. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA).
