Beijing Gallery ~

Our program will conclude with a two-day-and-a-half visit to Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China. As a capital city for more than four centuries, Beijing is abundant in historic relics. We will visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City (a large group of royal palaces), the Square of Heavenly Peace, the Summer Palace (a royal garden) and the Temple of Heaven (where the emperor used to pay sacrifice to Heaven). The tour in Beijing will enrich the understanding of Chinese culture that we acquire in the classroom.

Highlights:

Beijing Opera
During our stay in Beijing, we will spend one evening enjoying a performance of Beijing Opera presented by Beijing Opera Troop, one of the top opera shows in China. The opera will be presented at the ornate Pear Garden, a renowned theater in Beijing. Two side-screens will display English subtitles for each line uttered by actors and actresses so that we can fully understand every minute movement onstage. Such a setting enables foreigners to enjoy Beijing Opera as a unique form of Chinese art.

Gongfu Performance
During our stay in Beijing we will spend one evening enjoying a Gongfu performance. Incorporating Chinese martial arts into the presentation of an interesting story, this unique art will leave you speechless.
