Directions for opening the Legal Apprentice case file:

In order to open the Legal Apprentice file after you download it, you will need to have the Legal Apprentice software installed on your computer. The software can be downloaded by following this link. When the software is installed, it creates a set of sub-directories under “(My) Documents / Legal Apprentice”; save the downloaded case model to the Legal Apprentice / Saved Cases sub-directory. Please make sure that your browser does not change the file extension from *.alf to some other extension, such as *.zip; if it does, you need to change the file extension back to *.alf before Legal Apprentice can open it. Run the Legal Apprentice software and click on “File / Open Saved Case” to open the Birdsell model. For further directions on using Legal Apprentice, you can download and consult the Legal Apprentice “Help Document”.
