STEVEN R. COSTENOBLE'S

MACINTOSH FREEWARE AND SHAREWARE PAGE

The following three programs are freeware. They were developed to accompany the texts Finite Mathematics and Finite Mathematics and Applied Calculus, but anyone is welcome to use them.

The GaussJordan and Simplex programs aid in row reduction for the Gauss-Jordan method of solving systems of linear equations and the simplex method of solving linear programming problems.

The MatrixCalc program calculates expressions involving matrix arithmetic. Built in are identity matrices, matrix inversion, determinants, and many standard scalar functions as well.

The following program is also freeware. It was developed to accompany the texts Applied Calculus and Finite Mathematics and Applied Calculus, but anyone is welcome to use it.

The Graf program draws graphs of functions of one variable. It can draw families of graphs, parametrized curves, and sequences of points connected by lines or not. Zooming in and out on a graph is easy and intuitive. Functions are entered in standard mathematical notation, with most of the standard functions available.

SciCalc is a free scientific/programmer's calculator. SciCalc is available for 68K and PowerPC Macintoshes, and in algebraic and RPN versions. Follow the link for more information and to download the software.
