Pulse Phased Locked Loop Intracranial Pressure Transducer

by Tim Veltre

Problem Statement: People who suffer from head trauma, comas or other various head injuries have an increase in intracranial pressure. Astronauts also experience a rise in intracranial pressure. There needs to be a device to help relieve the pressure inside the human skull

Design objective: a transducer that uses a non-invasive way of relieving pressure within the human skull.

Background: Two types of Intracranial transducers. Invasive and Non-Invasive. Invasive are more effective in relieving the pressure. Non-Invasive are safer. Internal Workings: Attaches to the head. Sends ultrasound waves to the monitor for a reading.

Sumation: Nonivasive, and much safer in comparsion to the invasive technique.
