For the nominee selected by the Distinguished Teaching Award Committee, the MAA requires the following documentation. You need not provide it at this time, although it may strengthen a nominee's case.

  • A narrative describing the nominee's background (no more than 5 pages double spaced);
  • Evidence describing why the nominee deserves the award (no more than 3 pages);
  • 5 one page letters of recommendation: two from students, two from colleagues, and one from anyone qualified to comment on the candidate's extraordinary teaching success.
