Web Links

On the following pages are useful links to various resources. Some of these links are pedagogical in nature, and may be more suited for students, whereas others provide resources for both students and professionals. As you explore these pages, you will encounter files that you may want to download to your local computer. [It is a good idea to check for updates and patches on a regular basis since many software publishers routinely post corrections and/or additions on their web sites.] Downloadable files are frequently in formats that require that you have an installed program and/or plug-in in order to access the files. Two common file formats are Zip files and PDF files.

  • Zip files contain one or more files that are archived for distribution purposes. In addition, they are usually compressed to save space and download times. Zip files need to be unzipped prior to use. If you don't have a zip/unzip program, you will need to get one, such as FreeZip, Info-Zip, StuffIt Expander, and WinZip.

  • In order to view and print files that are in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
