ISHMAIL

Since 1994, the Melville Society has sponsored ISHMAIL, an on-line discussion group open to all individuals — academics, students, and enthusiasts — with an interest in Melville. The message or query you send to ISHMAIL is distributed to all members on the list, and all messages sent in response will be distributed to the entire group (which presently stands at about 500 members world-wide). The group is managed by the Melville Society's editor, John Bryant, but messages are not monitored or in anyway censored. An archive of past ISHMAIL discussions is maintained, and instructions for accessing it are contained in the "Welcome" message you receive when you subscribe.
