It is with regret that the Department of Biology at Hofstra University will no longer oversee the operation of the Hofstra University Marine Laboratory (HUML) effective September 1, 2006.

While the Department of Biology at Hofstra University will no longer operate HUML, the owners of the lab and Columbus Beach Cottages (Sandi Ross and Sandy Walters) will continue to maintain the facility and would like to host educational groups as they have done in the past. If you are interested in bringing your group back to CBC you can contact them directly (see information below) and make arrangements for your trip.

In addition, the owners are interested in partnering with a new institution that would take over the educational endeavors that Hofstra used to provide. The lab could be a valuable asset that would enhance the research and education of any institution. I am happy to provide assistance and information if anyone would like to discuss how the lab was operated in the past. I hope to see it grow in future years.
