Research:
I am interested in anger - an understudied emotion and important
clinical problem. The roots of anger are found in our learning
history, in cognitive filters which help us to construct reality,
and in genetics. Because I believe that it is critical for
us to understand the role of culture in psychopathology I have
traveled to, and lectured in, many countries including Russia,
India, Argentina, Korea, Spain, Denmark, Poland, etc.
I have published 60+ scholarly papers and have given more than
125 presentations at national and international meetings.
My 1995 edited book, Anger Disorders: Definition, Diagnosis
and Treatment was published by Taylor & Francis. Then,
Anger Management: The Complete Treatment Guidebook for Practitioners (Kassinove & Tafrate, Impact Publishers) appeared
in August 2002 and our DVD program in which
we show how to implement anger management techniques appeared
in 2006. Anger Management for Everyone (Tafrate & Kassinove, Impact Publishers) is scheduled to appear in 2009. |
