Modal Shares of U.S.-NAFTA-Partner Merchandise Trade by Value and Weight, 2006

In terms of value, more than 60% of all NAFTA trade is supported by trucking, which is quite understandable since transborder production systems are closely integrated, particularly between Canada and the United States. Rail is also playing a significant role as the North America rail system is well integrated.
