The loaded containers then travel to the nearby Yantian container port terminal, less than 5 km away. About 25,000 trucks per day entering the port terminals (comparatively, the port of New York & New Jersey handles about 10,000 trucks per day). This requires a complex management system where each container delivery is headed towards the right stacking area. This is particularly important since large containerships will need to be loaded with the least movements possible within the stacking yard.
