Container Waiting to be Loaded, APL DC - Shenzhen

All the shipments that have been received and sorted are consolidated in containers (a 40 footer in this case), or batches of containers. This is the main purpose of the distribution center; the support of the export-oriented function of the Shenzhen manufacturing cluster. This is the opposite of its counterparts in North America and Western Europe where freight shipments are decomposed into LTL (less than truckload) batches for retail stores. Once loaded, the container will be carried to the nearby port of Yantian.
