World’s Largest Dry-Bulk Carrier, the Berge Stalh
The Berge Stalh, completed in 1986, has 365,000 deadweight tons, a length of 343 meters, a beam of 63 meters and a draught of 25 meters. It represents the world's largest dry-bulk carrier, carrying iron ore between Brazil and Rotterdam, which it calls once every 5 weeks. Rotterdam is the only European port that can accommodate a ship of such size and it roughly takes 4 or 5 days to unload it. The above photo clearly indicates an empty ship sailing out of Rotterdam.
