Container Traffic of the World’s 20 Largest Container Ports, 2002 (in million TEUs)

The level of concentration of container traffic is remarkable. About 240 million TEU were transshipped in 2002, of which 126.99 were handled by the top 20 ports. The 6 largest ports are in Pacific Asia, underlining the importance of this region as the manufacturing center of the global economy.
