The Geography of Transport Systems
CREDITS
This project was initially funded by Industry Canada (1997-98) NoteMakers: Development of World Wide Web-Based Post-Secondary Education Courses. Funding was also provided by the Centre for Research on Transportation of Université de Montréal. Web server provided by Hofstra University.
Since its inception in 1997 and coming online in 1998, this project has seen numerous changes and revisions. It is continuously being updated as new material becomes available. In 2001 substantial cosmetic changes were performed by using Cascading Style Sheets, which significantly improved web design and management. In 2006, sections of the site have been published by Routledge in the textbook titled "The Geography of Transport Systems". The site has now become one of the most widely used transportation source on the Internet, averaging 15,000 unique visitors per month from almost every single country. In 2008, the site celebrated its 10th anniversary.
