Currently the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies, I am also the Leo A. Guthart Distinguished Professor of Teaching Excellence and a Professor of Psychology.
I received my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from New York University
in 1979. I have cowritten a text (with Elazar J. Pedhazur) on Measurement,
Design, and Analysis: An Integrated Approach and my other publications
have appeared in such journals as Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education, Basic
and Applied Social Psychology, Cancer, Exceptional Children, Journal of Behavioral Medicine, Journal of Higher Education, Journal of Psychiatric Education, Journal of Special Education, Rehabilitation
Psychology, and Research in Higher Education. Among my many professional activities and affiliations, I am a current member of the GRE Board, a current member of the Board of Scientific Affairs of the American Psychological Association (APA), a Fellow of APA, and a Past-President of Division 5 (Evaluation, Measurement, & Statistics) of APA. My areas of specialization include statistics, research design, and measurement and my current scholarly
interests focus on the effective teaching of methodology courses, academic integrity, faculty evaluation, as well
as on other teaching-related concerns in higher education.
