NSF ILI Web Site
Welcome to the home page of Hofstra University's Teaching Laboratories in Mathematics and Astronomy, partially supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation ILI program. This grant supported the following activities:
Improvements to the Hofstra Observatory (roof of CHPHB, information in CHPHB 102), which supports Astronomy 11, 12, 31, and a new course for undergraduates, Astronomy 190: Advanced Topics in Astronomy. The Hofstra Observatory has also been used for several public outreach programs.
A Computer Teaching Laboratory for Mathematics in Adams 014, which supports virtually all first and second-year math courses, and has also been used to support several programs, aimed at improved educational success for minority students at Hofstra University.
A second Computer Teaching Laboratory for Astronomy, Chemistry and Physics, in CHPHB (access via CHPHB 101), which supports elementary courses in these disciplines as well as interdisciplinary courses in Natural Science.
