School Technology Leadership Initiative (STLI) The School Technology Leadership Initiative (STLI) is a project started by my insightful colleagues at the University of Minnesota. Recognizing that leadership is the key to successful technology integration and technology utilization by local education agencies, STLI is the only preparation program in the country that directly addresses school leaders’ technology leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities. The STLI curriculum is based on the NETS-A (the National Education Technology Standards for Administrators), and is "the deepest, richest technology leadership learning experience anywhere in the country." STLI has reached out to University Partners through the Postsecondary Partners Program (P3) to enhance their technology-related preparation practices. The Department of Foundations, Leadership and Policy Studies in the School of Education and Allied Human Services at Hofstra University was selected as one of the first five postsecondary partners. As director of that partnership, I am working on integrating elements of the STLI curriculum into our existing administrative certification program. I am also in the process of developing standalong technology leadership courses towards a possible certificate or degree program in technology leadership. Also as part of STLI, I am a regular contributor to the School Technology Leadership Blog, the #1 source of information for school technology leaders. Click on the link to check out the blog. |
