Conde Nast runs paid internships at its magazines (Vogue, Self, Details, GQ, Vanity Fair, etc), only during the summer. Although Conde Nast participates in the ASME program, it also sponsors its own internships. Interested students should call the hotline at (212) 286-7141 in November or December. Fairchild Publishers is looking to fill two summer editorial internships in their trade titles. There is no pay involved, but interns will get a lot of experience in reporting, writing, editing and factchecking,and will come away with bylines. Interns must work at least three days a week. FIT Magazine is looking for looking for young women who are interested in health and fitness, obviously. If they would like to contribute to columns or write an article, a lively, informal writing style is a must. FIT Magazine offers internships at FIT at any time of the year. These are unpaid but very flexible. Students can come in twice a week or daily, depending on how much they would like to contribute to the current issue. Time4Media - formerly Times Mirror - offers full time paid summer and part time spring and fall editorial internships for journalism majors with an interest in sports. Time4Media is a division of Time Inc which is a subsidiary of AOL Time Warner. Time4Media publishes many sports magazines, including Golf, Ski, Outdoor Life, Field and Stream, as well as Popular Science. Summer interns work full time and receive a $1000 stipend. They get a lot of hands on experience. Spring and fall interns work 15-20 hours per week and get a $500 stipend. The corporation promises a valuable internship.
