
The Psychology of
Men

In large part due
to the feminist movement, men during this postmodern era have been encouraged
to alter stereotypic patterns of masculine behavior.
This course will:
- Examine the extent
to which the behavior of boys and men is predetermined (biological)
- Review the research
on how the early experiences of boys effect their adult values and behavior
with regard to gender.
- Examine the role
of ethnicity, race and socio-economic status on the development of gender
role in boys and men
- Identify and discuss
contemporary changes in masculine behavior and the new options available
to men in relationships, parenting and career choice
