Electronic News: A Journal of Applied Research & Ideas ... first published at Ball State University in spring 2001, the journal is now an official publication of the RTVJ Division of AEJMC. Charlie Tuggle, at UNC, and I are co-editors. Taylor & Francis now publishes the quarterly journal.”
The new "Future of News" study I conducted for the RTNDF and the Ford Foundation ... was released in Fall 2006. Preliminary findings were presented at the RTNDA Convention in 2006.
This study compared the attitudes of the American public with television news directors. Among the findings: The public watches a lot of local TV news and trusts TV more than any other medium. But there are some serious disconnects between the two groups, including the public's desire to know more about the journalistic process. The results were released at the 2003 RTNDA Convention.
These are some of the major articles and presentations I've written and delivered in the last few years. And at least a partial list of awards.
