Sequencing requires the use of highly purified DNA without trace phenol. There are a large number of commercially-available kits designed to extract plasmid DNA without the use of phenol.For this class I have used the WizardÒ Plus SV Minipreps DNA Purification System ( Promega) and Qiagen (now Obiogene) .
